ICDL Typing Skills exams for everyone

As of today all ICDL Test Centres have access to the ICDL Typing Skills exam (formerly OTC) in their ICDL test administration. Extend your ICDL programme with a touch typing course, as touch typing is the foundation for working with computers.

In this online exam candidates copy a text on their PC or Mac in ten minutes as quickly and accurately as possible. With 1000 characters and an error rate under 0.5% they reach the Standard level, from 2000 characters on up the Professional level and above 3000 characters the Expert level certificate. The exam can be taken in English, German or French.

Developed by the Austrian Computer Society (OCG), this touch typing exam has been in use in Switzerland for eight years. This year it was endorsed by the ECDL Foundation and has thereby become part of the ICDL programme. Therefore ICDL Test Centres can offer the Typing Skills exam for a stand-alone certificate or as part of a Profile certificate. We are delighted that the ICDL programme has been extended with the ICDL Typing Skills exam and also includes the basic skill of fast and accurate touch typing.
