The ECDL Advanced comprises four modules and builds on the Core modules of the same name. For each of these modules an individual certificate can be acquired. Like this for instance Excel experts can acquire an ICDL Advanced
certificate in spreadsheets. After passing at least three ICDL Advanced modules of your choice you are entitled to call yourself a specialist in Office applications. You will receive the ICDL Expert certificate, which attests your extensive and professional skills.

Note: The ECDL Core is not a prerequisite for obtaining the ECDL Advanced certificate.

Exam preparation

You can check your current skills with the ECDL Advanced Syllabus. Due to the level of difficulty of the test we recommend taking a course in an authorized ECDL Advanced test centre.

Autodidacts can also prepare for the exam on their own with suitable courseware.

Test

The tests can be taken in all authorised ECDL Advanced test centres. Before you start you need to get an Advanced Skills Card, which you can buy in your Advanced test centre.

As soon as you have completed a module successfully, you will receive the corresponding Advanced certificate.
