ECDL START is the European Computer Driving Licence's "little brother". Like the ECDL Core it certifies IT-user skills and is internationally recognized. As an initial certification, it is suitable for people who want to focus on specific skills or whose employers only require certain competences.

Anyone who wants to receive the ECDL START has to pass four out of the seven modules and has to let these exams be recorded on their personal Skills Card ? the choice of modules is up to the candidates. The ECDL Start can of course be extended to the ECDL Core within three years.
